The partnership combines Oberammergau’s iconic cultural tradition with aovo Touristik AG’s distribution expertise to deliver a seamless, modern ticketing experience for visitors worldwide.
SECUTIX, a leading provider of advanced ticketing and engagement solutions, has been appointed the official ticketing platform behind one of the world’s most iconic cultural events, the Passion Play Oberammergau 2030.
In partnership with aovo Touristik AG, which is the official sales partner for the Passion Play Oberammergau, the SECUTIX solution will power the ticketing infrastructure for this extraordinary event.
aovo Touristik AG will use SECUTIX's proven platform to create a seamless ticketing infrastructure for the 2030 Passion Play, ensuring effective integration with aovo’s distribution platform and a scalable system capable of handling high international demand.
The Bavarian town of Oberammergau, Germany, has been staging the Passion Play since 1634. It is held only once every 10 years and, due to its unique tradition, draws visitors from around the globe. More than 2,000 residents of the municipality participate in the production, which dramatizes the final days of Jesus’ life in a multi-hour theatrical performance.
The 2030 edition is expected to feature around 100 performances from May to September. To meet the complexity and scale of this production, SECUTIX will deliver a comprehensive ticketing infrastructure that includes API integration into aovo Touristik AG’s proprietary booking platform; an advanced interactive seat map embedded into the customer purchasing process; and a highly scalable system designed to manage peak traffic and global demand.
The partnership also includes an option to extend for the 2034 edition, which will commemorate the 400th anniversary of this historic performance.
The Passion Play demands a robust ticketing system to manage the complexities of numerous performances spread over several months, expecting to attract more than half a million visitors. Our partnership with SECUTIX, leveraging their advanced technology alongside our strong distribution expertise, will ensure an exceptional ticketing experience for visitors from around the globe to this culturally significant event.
