BSC Young Boys makes ticket handling easier and more safe

The soccer club BSC Young Boys from Bern, in cooperation with the ticketing platform SECUTIX, and the secure and mobile ticket wallet TIXNGO, is taking a consistent approach to make the fan experience even more secure and to tackle the black market problem.

  • Ticketing solution TIXNGO helps against spam and ticket faking
  • Ticket handling will be simplified and fan experience optimized

The sports experience not only begins when people enter the stadium, it also starts in advance, when tickets are being bought. The expectations for digital technologies around a match day have increased. More and more organizers of major sporting events and owners of sports venues are looking to new cloud, mobile, and analytics technologies to create a harmonious sports experience. The soccer club BSC Young Boys from Bern, in cooperation with the ticketing platform SECUTIX, and the secure and mobile ticket wallet TIXNGO, is taking a consistent approach to make the fan experience even more secure and to tackle the black market problem.

Ticket fraud no longer possible

SECUTIX's ticket app, TIXNGO, is an effective instrument to reduce fraud and ticket counterfeiting. The app creates a unique, encrypted and entirely trackable ticket for each smartphone. In addition, for the day of the game, the app generates a QR code that is protected by an integrated animated graphic. TIXNGO also blocks taking any screenshots. The system uses graphical detection algorithms to identify potential ticket fraud, track ticket transfers in real time, and detects suspicious behavior of ticket holders, which could reveal fraud. The Young Boys decided to use the possibility of combining TIXNGO with their existing ticketing system.

Fan loyalty rewarded

BSC Young Boys has a loyal fan community. The season pass, a physical pass that grants access to all the matches during the season, plays a significant role in how fans identify with the club.

That's why it was very important to BSC Young Boys to make a season pass available as a digital solution as well. With the integration of TIXNGO into the YB ticket app, fans have the option of using a digital season pass and passing on their tickets for one or more matches if they themselves are unable to attend the match. In the future, it would also be possible to resell tickets from TIXNGO via a resale platform.

Digital transformation in soccer

Digital transformation often starts in simple places—it begins with connecting ticketing with accounting. With the SECUTIX system, the fan's stadium experience begins with the purchase of the ticket. The ticketing system offers a ticketing provider not only a relationship with the customer, but also the possibility to manage the entire event visit. Visitors receive important information in advance via push messages. Another advantage is the ability to find all tickets in one place and easily access them at any time with just one tap.

Norbert Stockmann, Managing Director of SECUTIX for DACH, summarizes:

"Selling a ticket may have been a mundane task in the past. Today, the technology behind it is an engagement system that represents the heart of the digitization of live events. In 2023, we will be able to deliver a new system to BSC Young Boys with TIXNGO, further strengthening our partnership. SECUTIX not only supported the club during the Corona crisis and showed a way to enjoy the sport as a live event despite social distancing, but also this year with the integration of TIXNGO as a digital partner for fans and club."

Daniel Marti, Head of Marketing, adds:

"We are very happy to have SECUTIX as a trusted ticketing partner for several years now. They look ahead to the future, and give us the opportunity to offer our fans an even better ticket handling experience."
