Today the Paléo Festival, created in 1976, is the largest open-air musical event in Switzerland. Each year some 230,000 spectators attend more than 190 concerts and events programmed over six days.

Since 2003, Paléo has developed a ticket sales solution to autonomously manage and centralise its ticketing, and control and expand its sales network, all in order to combat fraud and the black market, thereby improving and securing access control.

Using SecuTix technology, today Paléo has managed to sell more than 50% of its tickets through its internet site as paperless (print@home) tickets. The validity of each ticket is checked at the event entrance through 15 mobile terminals. Bar codes ensure a single use, and the SecuTix microstructure offers double security against counterfeiting.

Paléo uses this solution in the SaaS mode, which allows it to manage especially important peak traffic periods at the opening of ticket sales, such as during the “last minute” ticket sales on each day of the festival. During these “Flash Sales” more than 10,000 simultaneous connections were numbered, allowing the sale of 1,500 tickets in only a few minutes.

Here, the ‘E-Payment Center’ solution allows Paléo to manage all electronic payment processes. This platform is capable of supporting thousands of simultaneous transactions, from their transmission to the payment provider to the automation of electronic ticket generation after receipt of payment confirmation.

SecuTix guarantees dependable service and excellent quality for the festival.
